Once upon a time, Disney Plus allowed new subscribers to try out its streaming service for a whole week. Unfortunately, our happy ending came to an end fairly quickly and there is currently no free Disney Plus trial for potential new customers who hope to experience a treasure trove of content from Walt Disney Studios and its partners including National Geographic, Marvel, and Star Wars.
While its free trial seems to have disappeared in a remote land (possibly Neverland?), There are still some ways to get a streaming platform without paying for it, as detailed below.
As financial losses of $ 1.1 billion were revealed in August, it’s safe to say that reintroducing the Free Trial should not be completely out of the question in Mickey’s future marketing strategy – especially if the new tier of ads to be launched are not producing the desired effect. Below we explain how to get a free Disney Plus trial, allowing new subscribers to try out some of the best Disney Plus programs.
Disney Plus Free Trial: Does It Exist?
Unfortunately, there’s no Disney Plus free trial – and it hasn’t been for a while.
Disney Plus Free Trials did allow users in the US, Canada, UK and Australia to take full advantage of the service for seven days before spending anything. However, it ended in June 2020.
Even as Disney Plus rolled out to other parts of the world, the new territories where the platform was launched did not receive the same kind of offer. This is the case, in any case, from Japan, where the Disney Plus free trial period entitled customers to the entire 31-day period. Unfortunately, as mentioned, it ended in late 2021.
The Philippines and Vietnam are the last countries on the current rollout schedule, so it’s possible we’ll see a Disney Plus Free Trial there. That said, we’d be more inclined to put our best in a Black Friday discount.

US customers can enjoy the Disney Plus package including Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu for just $ 13.99 a month (opens in a new tab) or $ 19.99 a month if you go for Hulu ad-free. This of course gives you access to even more content, including more adult content on Hulu, while ESPN Plus covers more than sports fans with loads of great entertainment.
Those looking for Hulu with live TV can: pay £ 75.99 a month to throw Disney Plus and ESPN Plus on (opens in a new tab).

What can you watch in the Disney Plus Free Trial?
The Disney Plus Free Trial gave you access to your entire streaming library to watch as much as you wanted for seven days. It was functionally a weekly subscription to the service and if you opted out before the end of the trial period, you can enjoy every TV show and movie without spending anything.
This included a load of Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar movies as well as originals like The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars.
At least for now, you’ll have to pay if you want to check it out, though it’s fair to say there are more Disney Plus Originals movies and other excellent titles on the platform, including new Pixar movies like Turning Red and MCU and Star Wars extensions like Ms Marvel and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Does Disney Plus have gift cards?
Needless to say, it’s not on the same wavelength as the Disney Plus Free Trial. However, like its competitors, there are gift cards for the service. For more information, check out our guide to Disney Plus Gift Cards.
